Lojero – Painting a Cityscape in Watercolor

Work along as Tere Lojero paints the vibrant colors of Mexico and shares the fluid loveliness of her painting esthetic.

In this workshop you learn how Tere approaches cityscapes. She explains her process, starting with a
 sketch to set the main shapes and light in the scene, progressing to the final painting in watercolor.

Stages in the Course:
 Participants first received a reference image in order to prepare the drawing before the workshop. The reference image is linked below.

At the workshop’s beginning, Tere explains how the sketch becomes the first visual study, followed by how to translate the idea of a scene onto the paper, finding the light, and 
indicating the main shapes in the scene.

Then the painting begins. Tere talks about color and the main mixes she often uses. She will
explain the importance of synthesizing shapes and analyzing the elements of a cityscape. The
painting will be on wet paper but with some interventions on dry paper. The addition of different brush strokes to give vibrancy and spontaneity to the work. Tere’s final painting was extraordinary! Artists of all skill levels will benefit from this workshop.
