Grain Elevators dot the horizon all across Montana (and other grain growing states) and are easy to spot from a long distance due to their height and architecture. I grew up in Montana and remember delivering wheat to a grain elevator; it was exciting to go inside and see the huge bins storing grain. They are structurally very strong, 12" walls at base and some hold up to 30,000 bushels. Some grain elevators have stood 40-50 years and look quite 'weary'.
