Painting Stargazers was an emotional exercise, a visual connection to the profound moment of the loss of both my mother and my mother-in-law this past year. The depiction of a couple beneath the stars was inspired by the Inuit proverb, which states that the stars in the sky are portals by which our loved ones express their eternal happiness, confirming our enduring connection with them. Painting this was a journey through grief and memory, a small step towards healing, and a symbol of hope after loss.
