This is a painting of a church in the Loire Valley. It is lichen covered, sagging and patched yet has stood since the 10th century. I viewed it from an adjacent garden and fell in love with the both its shapes and its history. Painting it was some about its geometry, but more made me wonder about all the life that has passed through and by it.
