De Ponte Cellars is one of my favorite scenic locations in the Dundee Hills, which is in the heart of Oregon's first ever American Viticulture Area (AVA). The Dundee Hills are home to some of the most recognized and esteemed vineyards in the Willamette Valley.
This painting uses Daniel Smith watercolors mixed with Liquitex matte acrylic medium on 140# Strathmore cold press watercolor paper. The paper is mounted to .75 inch thick birch cradle. It uses extensive masking and pouring and a mix of warm and cool colors, including a wide range of greens mixed wet-in-wet on the painting itself for shifts and variations in temperature, value and saturation.
