"Puget Sound Country" is a transparent watercolor inspired by a winter sunrise on Puget Sound with Mt. Rainier in the distance. It was painted primarily using wet blending techniques with some drybrush texture in the foreground. The painting was created with a minimum of brushwork, allowing the watercolors to lightly blend on the paper. No white paint was used and the light values on the water and mountain shape are simply the white of the paper.
