This dancing poppy couldn't resist the need to be painted. It is part of a series of blooms on dark backgrounds that I've been exploring for a show "From Darkness Blooms". I usually paint the flower so close up that there is no background, but on this I had fun abstracting the foliage for a nighttime exposure. It was challenging and fun.
