This painting was done from my imagination. My memories of hiking many times across Olympic National Park provide me a wealth of images for painting. This painting is the way I remember coming up to a pass on a typical moist, foggy day in the Olympics with rain showers sweeping over the ridges. I flooded the paper with water before I laid in the sky and the foreground. I painted some of the trees wet in wet and then scraped out the rocks in the foreground with a credit card. Lastly I added the nearer trees and bushes.
