This Water Taxi docks right outside our condo in West Seattle! It travels from the Alki shoreline to the Seattle Waterfront area across Elliott Bay - about a 20 minute ride. The Water Taxi is always a welcome and beautiful sight to me, and I enjoy seeing it framed by the Seattle skyline as it departs many times daily. Passengers may be Seattle Concert goers, Sports Fans, as well as Commuters, Tourists and Local Residents. The Taxi is very respectful of wildlife, and it has been known to stop for seals to pass before docking. I like that. The Water Taxi Captain is also a local hero! Recently the Captain utilized the Taxi as a 'tug' to prevent a huge runaway barge from hitting a Seattle dock! How about that? Very cool. I feel so fortunate to be able to see the Water Taxi from our window, which is where I took my reference photo - and where I often hang out.
