My watercolors are built up by working around the page in many transparent layers, considering shape, color, and value. Details are slowly depicted with more precision until I am satisfied that I've captured the essence of the subject, the expression on a person's face, the moment in time. My favorite subjects are regular people doing ordinary things. This little cutie has captured my heart! Look at his careful handling and tasting of that pizza — crust first!
