Colorspots is completely non-objective. There are some elements of collage and graphite present as I use parts of old paintings and etchings from earlier work to add variety. The graphite adds a linear element that I can't achieve with paint. I let the painting guide my process as I add and subtract many visual elements and textures. I keep working until I achieve something that is visually pleasing to me. Along the way I eliminate or paint over most of my original marks.
