When I begin work on a painting, I have no image in mind of what I will create. I began this piece by pouring several different watercolors onto a wet piece of watercolor paper, letting them spread together. After they dried, I made a marbling bath using the colors that were on the watercolor paper. I also added some black watercolor to the bath to add dark areas. Lastly, I sprayed white watercolor dots all over the bath, before dipping the painting into the bath. After the painting dried, I thought it looked very joyful, so I named it Celebration.
