As the Fog Lifts The wild and scenic Washington coast is a plein air painter’s dream. This started as a quick watercolor sketch and was explored more in-depth in the studio. I intended to capture that time of transition from foggy morning to clear blue skies. The reflections of the shore in the deep blue water drew me in. The warm tones of the driftwood provided a perfect complement. I’m happy with the feeling of the fleeting atmosphere I was able to capture here and the sparkle of the shore reflections in the changing blues of the water.
