The work I submitted for possible selection into the exhibition I feel reflects the current Skagit Valley mid-summer season of flowers at the local botanic gardens in the Mount Vernon area. I love the variety of Dahlias that grow here. This Dahlia caught my eye with its bright hue colors of red, orange in the beads of the flower that I feel when painting it made you feel like you could just reach out and touch it. I love painting it, and how it stood out against the dark lush green background in the paint. Richard Reed Studios
