Growing up, I was always drawing and painting, constantly immersed in creativity. But art was never considered a serious career choice in my family; it was just a hobby, something I did for fun. Despite this, my passion for it never wavered. I spent countless hours filling up sketchbook after sketchbook, drawing everything I could imagine. I always had the hope that I could one day do something more with it.
When college came, I initially chose to study physics, thinking it was the practical, sensible option. But at orientation, I realized that I couldn’t ignore my passion. I would be miserable and doing myself a disservice. In that moment, I switched my major to studio art, trusting my instincts and embracing what I wanted.
It was a bold decision, and though there were moments of doubt, I never regretted it. Art has become more than just a passion; it’s my purpose. Each day, I feel more connected to my creativity and the work I do. What once seemed like a risky leap now feels like the most natural path I could have chosen. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m proud to have followed my heart, even when the road wasn’t clear.
