I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by the arts my entire life. My mom is a watercolor painter and a theater director. Growing up, my family was often dancing, singing or drawing together. One of my most prized possessions is a picture with my Grandpa Grover. I’m sitting in his lap, and he is helping me paint for the first time. Growing up I focused on ballet, art and musical theatre. My senior year of high school, I took AP Art and threw myself into it. The arts were something that I held so dearly during that year. At the end of that year I stared at the choices of majors on my local University’s website. Staring back at me were the three subjects I loved so much. Deciding which to study between Theatre, dance and Art was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made. It would be hard to live without all of them but in the end I picked the one that would be impossible to live without, so I declared my major as Art at Utah State University. I then moved north to attend BYU-I. My love for art has done nothing but continued to grow.
