I can't remember a time when art wasn't a part of my life. Through my mom I got to see the vast array of facets to creativity. My mom is a book binder and through her I got to be a part of an artistic community that never stopped creating and finding beauty. I found a great appreciation for the natural world and how artists captured it through Jessica Bryant, a watercolor artist in my community that creates breathtaking depictions of nature. Here my exploration in art started with a nature journal and cheap watercolors. Of course I couldn't forsake my pursuit of art after high school, so I began to share art to others through volunteer opportunities and started to work toward a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Idaho. I've grown a lot as an artist at the University of Idaho and have discovered the communicative power of art. I hope to take the skills I have learned and bring them into a career in art therapy.
