I grew up in a family of five kids, my mom homeschooling us through high school. A love for art and creating was passed down from my parents. I was fascinated with how things worked and built a working loom from skewer sticks after seeing one in action. One of my favorite things to do is draw. When I was younger, I had the opportunity to attend a community drawing lesson. The artist taught us how to draw from observation which, as an eight year old, completely changed the way I drew. I am now attending George Fox University as a studio art major where I’ve had the opportunity to try charcoal, which has quickly become one of my favorite mediums to work with. Another of my current classes is printmaking, specifically etching. During the upcoming summer I have been commissioned to do several art projects in my community and hope to work on several personal projects as well. In the next school year I’m hoping to study photography, ceramics and take another drawing class.
