Columbines are perhaps one of the most delightful wildflowers of the Rocky Mountains. Their long spurs hold nectar to attract pollinating hummingbirds. I discovered these growing among large rocks while backpacking in the high mountains of the Wind River Range in Wyoming. I created a dynamic background to portray the flowers getting buffeted around in the wind.
