This is a watercolor batik done on rice paper. We took a recent trip to the Hoh Rain Forest on the Olympic Peninsula celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary . We had not been back for 15 years but were fascinated to see some of the same fallen trees left to nourish the new growth of trees ,lichen and mushrooms on the old trees. These are called NURSE TREES because they take care of the regrowth in the rain forest.
