Night crossing was inspired by a cattle drive that I rode in Texas, where horses and cattle were herded across the inlet. I was waiting on the receiving side as the horses crossed the water. I took a lot of photos that day and many of them have become paintings of this incredible sight. I have always loved horses and have painted a great many equines. Trying to capture the horses crossing at dusk with all of the sunset gold was a particular challenge. This painting was the solution!
