"Looking Glass" is an image of an American Flamingo that looks as if it is looking in a mirror due to the water reflection. I took a variety of flamingo photos in this location and chose to paint this one due to the dramatic, dark background and the almost mirror-like reflection of the bird in the water. The warm, afternoon light really makes the flamingo's coral feathers glow and the green in the water is a nice near-compliment. The personality and variety of birds continue to be a favorite subject to paint and I enjoy showing their beauty to the world.
