The Pacific Northwest coast is a magical place, wild and scenic. This painting was done from a plein air work on a very rare sunny morning on the northwest coast of Washington. I was smitten by the light, the fog rolling out, the sounds of waves lapping and seabirds swooping as I stood on the beach and took in the fragility and power of nature that surrounded me. This studio version is my attempt to recreate and share that feeling of grandeur and of that moment in time.
