Medium: Watercolor

This painting is a Watercolor Batik made on Unryu Rice paper. Each layer is painted and then covered up with hot wax to preserve the colors from running together. After the last layer is covered up the wax is crinkled and color is poured over. This lets the color seep into the cracks creating a batik effect. All the wax is ironed off and the painting is attached to watercolor paper and then glued to a wood cradleboard. Every piece is unique.
