I went to school in England. The photo reference was taken at St John's College in Cambridge University many years ago. When I looked at it again, it reminded me a famous Chinese poem "Farewell Again Cambridge" which I had also translated into English. And I decided to paint a theme that would capture the mood of that poem: "The golden riverside willow, At sunset is the pride; In shimmering waves her shadow, Ripples in my mind. ........ Chasing dreams? Propelling with a long pole, Towards the greener grass I row upstream, Loaded full of twinkling on my boat, Sing aloud in the starry gleam. ....."
