This is my son when he was a volunteer firefighter. When a local property owner asked them to burn a derelict building, he was there to help supervise the new class of firefighters. I am grateful that he allowed me to observe, because (hopefully) this will be the ONLY time that I will ever be able to watch him do what he loves and was born to do. I have not painted a lot of portraits, but I find them very rewarding - especially this one. First responders are an incredible class of individuals, and I am so blessed to have one of my own.
