DESCRIPTION:START TIME: 6:00 (Pacific time)\nMichael Solovyev is from Montreal\, Canada and is often called a “sunny watercolorist”. His airy\, transparent paintings look as though they emit sunlight. His traditional academic art education\, extensive experience as a theater stage designer\, and his career as an oil painter have informed his current priority as a watercolor artist – the depiction of light. \nMichael’s work is universally appealing\, and in his January demo\, you’ll see his unique technique for creating his beautiful work. He uses a step-by-step and layer-by-layer image construction\, using both dry brush technique and soft transitions. \nWhat you’ll see during the demo is a preview of his upcoming 2-day online workshop (April 16-17\, 2026)\, which will be a focus on portraiture.
