SUMMARY:AZR- Jan 8\, 2024: DALE LAITINEN | FOCUS: THE VALUE OF VALUES\, DARKS AND LIGHTS
DESCRIPTION:START TIME: 1:00 (Pacific). Virtual doors open 12:45. \nCLICK: LAITINEN WORKSHEET AND READING FOR CRITIQUED PAINTINGS \nPAINTINGS FOR LAITINEN CRITIQUE DUE DATE: DEC. 12\, 2023 \nSEND PAINTINGS FOR CRITIQUE TO:  azr@nwws.org \nWelcome\, Dale Laitinen\, to January’s AZR event! \nValue is one of the five basic design elements when one is creating a 2-dimensional\nartwork. It defines shapes\, light\, shadow\, and much more. A painting simply cannot find success\nwithout attention to values\, and Dale will be with us to help us understand how that happens and\nhow those whose work will be reviewed might improve their chances for success.\nDale has provided brief preliminary reading and two photos from which to paint and submit your\nwork for critiquing (members only). \nDale has written more about values and how those who would like to have their work critiqued should submit their work. SUMMARY:JAN 2024 GENERAL MEETING DEMONSTRATION WITH LAURIE GOLDSTEIN-WARREN
DESCRIPTION:JANUARY 23\, 2024 – We are excited to bring the energy and enthusiasm of Laurie Goldstein-Warren to NWWS! \nMEETING START TIME: 7:00 (Pacific time) \nLaurie is one of a handful of artists who has achieved Gold Medal Fellowship status with NWWS. \nAlways artistic\, Laurie’s early creative life was as a young and accomplished ballet\, tap and jazz dancer\, followed by the avant garde creative world of fantasy hair competitions. A move to West Virginia’s countryside took her back to painting\, and that was 19 years ago. \nAfter many years of studying the art of watercolor with fantastic teachers and mentors\, she is grateful to have found success in this field. Her artwork has been shown all over the U.S. and has been exhibited in Canada\, China and Japan. She now travels the country as a popular instructor and exhibition juror. \nLaurie is represented by Gallery 46 in Lake Placid\, New York.
