A. The prospectus for each of two NWWS annual exhibitions will give you all the information you need to prepare your entry. The “Waterworks Unplugged” Exhibition is open to all NWWS members and on exhibit October-November each year. The prospectus is posted online each June. The “Annual International Open Exhibition”, held April-May, is open to both members and non-members and is entered by artists from around the world. This exhibition’s prospectus is posted online in November each year.

Note that in 2020 and forward, the two exhibitions dates will be transposed, with the Open exhibition each Fall and the Waterworks Unplugged exhibition each Spring.

A third exhibition is the bi-annual “Signature Exhibition”. Members who have attained Signature status may exhibit in this prestigious autumn exhibit that showcases the immense talents of our Signature Members.

A. The Co-Chairs of the Annual International Open Exhibition, along with the NWWS president, choose one painting to receive the “Purchase Award” from paintings that are part of the exhibition. This award does not apply to any other NWWS exhibitions. Accepted artists may choose to have their work be available for this $1,000 award but are not required to do so. Most artists elect to make their work available for this prestigious award and are honored to become part of the NWWS Permanent Collection.

A. NWWS is active on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Twitter.

We have two Facebook pages: one for the business of the organization and one for members to actively participate in.

The “Northwest Watercolor Society Members Group” is a closed page that only NWWS members may join after answering a few questions. Here, you may post your paintings, engage with other members, and participate in monthly paintings challenges.

The “Northwest Watercolor Society” page is used by NWWS administrators for announcements, publications, and general business. We ask that members do not post paintings there, but rather on the group page.
