PRIVACY STATEMENT

Thank you for visiting our site. Northwest Watercolor Society is committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy covers any personal information that we obtain from you when you logon and visit our site. Our Privacy Policy may change in the future. We invite you to check back periodically to see if we have made changes. If we make any material changes, we will post a notice on our home page.

By using this site, you agree to the terms of our policy.

Personal Information Collected

To be a registered user on our site, we ask you to share personal information. Whether you choose to give us this information is up to you, but if you withhold information, you may not be able to use some of our services.

If you want to become a registered user, we will require personal information as shown on our registration page. You do not have to be a registered user to visit our web pages or download our newsletters, but you will need to register if you want to become an NWWS member or enter one of our yearly exhibitions.

How We Protect Your Information

We realize that our registered users and members trust us to protect their personal information. We take that task seriously. We maintain safeguards to protect your personal information. For example: We use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") authentication to guarantee the confidentiality of online transactions made on our site. SSL authentication and encryption of the information that you send to us over the Internet help to protect your online transaction information from third party interception.

We urge you to protect your own privacy, however.

Unfortunately, despite all of our efforts, there is always a risk that third parties may unlawfully intercept transmissions. This reality is true of ALL Internet use. As a result, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit. As with all online transactions, you transmit information at your own risk.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We may use your information to contact you for account and information purposes. For example, if you are an associate member and we have a question about your contact information needed to publish our member roster, we will contact you for clarification. We also send out emails to our members providing them with important information about our events and exhibitions.

Who Views Your Personal Information

As a membership organization that publishes a member roster every year, it is understood that, if you are an NWWS member, your name and contact information will be published in the roster. We will not rent or sell your personal information to anyone, and have no plans to do so. Your personal information will only be used by the organization and for the services provided on this site.

If you do not want your information made public, please contact our Membership Chair at the appropriate email address posted on our Contact page.

We do not share any personal information with any companies, patrons or other art associations, and it is unlikely that this policy will change in the future. If we do decide to share information with these affiliates, we will post a notice in this Privacy Policy and on our home page.

Making a Transaction

When you pay membership dues or enter an exhibition, you can make these payments by mail, credit card, or through PayPal. You must be a registered user in order to make a transaction. Your credit card information is NEVER stored in our database and is used only for the duration of the transaction. This data is always transmitted securely to the merchant bank and is not stored on our system.

If You Are Under the Age of 18

Our site is available for the enjoyment of all. However, in order to become an NWWS member or enter an exhibition, you must be 18 years of age. As a member or an exhibition entrant, if we find out you are not 18 years old your membership will be revoked and/or your exhibition entry(s) disqualified.
