Membership Benefits

Besides being among some of the foremost watercolor artists in the United States and Canada, members receive many additional benefits with an annual membership.

Website Access

After registering, you will have your membership verified, then will be allowed access to the following:

  • access to the newsletter "Hot Press" online
  • post a link to your website
  • critiques of your paintings by NWWS Signature Members
  • NWWS Visual Library list

Bi-monthly newsletter, "Hot Press"

The newsletter includes information on workshops and opportunities to enter juried shows, profiles of members, details of upcoming programs and speakers, recognition of members' accomplishments, photographs and more.

Monthly educational meetings

These gatherings feature lectures and demonstrations on all forms of watercolor painting. They are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 2650 148th Avenue SE, Bellevue, WA. Speakers showcase various forms of watercolor painting, often through slide presentations of demonstrations. They also demonstrate the use of new materials.

Painting workshops

Held twice a year, painting workshops are taught by prominent, nationally known instructors. These special events, which are open to the public, are advertised first to members, who can participate at a reduced rate. This is an important benefit as workshops have a limited enrollment.

Visual library

A library of instructional video tapes and DVD's is available to members for a small rental fee. This fee allows us to update the library regularly. Videos allow members to study those topics of more specific interest to them as they learn at their own pace. The Video Library list is available on-line to members registered with this website.

Reduced entry fees

Members entering the Annual Open Exhibition pay a reduced fee.

Entrance in Members-Only Exhibitions

Members only are eligible to enter Waterworks, the Society's annual juried show.
