The Northwest Watercolor Society hosts two 5-day workshops every year. Each workshop accompanies the opening of one of our major exhibitions: the Annual International Open Exhibition and Waterworks, our membership exhibition. Both exhibitions are juried by internationally known artists and instructors with a reputation for providing excellent instruction in water media.

Our 75th Anniversary and Open Exhibition Celebration from July 6 through July 12, 2015 will be the one exception to our normal, twice-yearly workshop schedule. The International Open and Waterworks exhibitions will be combined into one large exhibition at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center, and NWWS will host two separate workshops simultaneously that week, taught by our jurors for the event, Alvaro Castagnet and Judy Morris.

NWWS workshops can include up to 24 participants and are hosted in a wonderful, spacious venue. Snacks and beverages are provided. For workshop information contact workshop chair Marcia Giant or assistant chair Molly Murrah at workshops(at)

NWWS is very proud of its workshops and we are especially proud of the talented artists who choose to join us in Seattle to judge our shows and teach our workshop participants. Each artist/instructor is uniquely qualified and well-known in the international artist community, and we are lucky to have them as creative partners.
